Aggregate quarterly per capita income in Uzbekistan increases

Uzbekistan's total per capita income in the first quarter amounted to 2.3 million soums ($226.2), Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Due to changes in consumer prices, the growth rate of total income of the population in real terms amounted to 7.6 percent compared to the same period in 2019. In the period from January through March 2020, real growth rates of total income per capita reached 5.6 percent.

Highest average per capita income of the population was recorded in Tashkent - 5.8 million soum ($570.6), Navoi - 3.6 million soum ($354.1) and Bukhara regions - 2.6 million soum ($255.8).

The smallest indicator of average per capita income of the population is recorded in Namangan region - 1.6 million soum ($157.4).

Substantial changes in labor income (income of hired workers and self-employment), which accounts for 66 percent of total income and 25.3 percent of transfer income (including pensions, allowances and scholarships), contribute to the significant growth in the total comprehensive income of the population.

According to preliminary data, in the period from January through March 2020, the total volume of income of the population reached 78.9 trillion soum ($7.7 billion).
