Azerbaijan discloses data on trade operations from Jan. through Apr. 2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18

Legal entities and individuals in Azerbaijan carried out trade operations with partners in 153 countries from January through April 2020, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee.

In particular, the products were exported to 91 countries and imported from 142 countries.

Over the reporting period, the country's foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.7 billion, including the statistical value of crude oil and natural gas, the customs clearance of which was not fully completed.

According to the committee, $4 billion accounted for export and $1.4 billion - for imports. As a result, the trade balance amounted to $2.6 billion.

In the reporting period, the foreign trade turnover in actual prices decreased by 16 percent compared to the same period of 2019, in real terms - by 15.8 percent, including import - by 4.8 percent and export - by 32.9 percent.

Non-oil products worth $429 million were exported from the country from January through April 2020, which is 3.47 percent more at actual prices and by 5.2 percent less in real terms, compared to the same period of 2019.
