Germany's Deutsche Bank AG (DB) has allocated major syndicated loans for ongoing diversification of Turkmen economy, company’s representative told Trend.
The bank cooperates with the Turkmen government in the different spheres, said the representative.
“Deutsche Bank is a large international partner of Turkmenistan for handling import and export transactions across all sectors of the country's economy,” he added.
Having operated in the country since 1997, Deutsche Bank has developed good relationship with Turkmen government, said the representative adding that the bank provides services to almost all commercial banks and the central bank of the country. They include, among others, cash settlement, structured export finance and assets management.
Earlier, Turkmenistan and Deutsche Bank AG expressed their commitment to further development of bilateral cooperation. During a meeting held via videoconference, the parties considered issues of bilateral cooperation and noted the productive nature of the interaction established between Turkmenistan and largest German companies. It was emphasized that currently, the cooperation has reached a new level and is successfully developing in different directions.
In November 2019, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting with Deutsche Bank's Managing Director of the regional office for Central and Eastern Europe Joerg Bongartz, during which the partnership with German companies and the role of the Turkmen-German Intergovernmental Working Group on Economics in the context of further promotion of joint projects were discussed.
German companies such as Siemens, Daimler, Claas, Rohde & Schwarz, Dresser-Rand, MAN, Bosch and others make a significant contribution towards implementation of long-term projects in Turkmenistan.
