Kazakhstan's broad money value up

The value of Kazakhstan’s monetary base amounted to 8.2 trillion tenge ($20.5 billion) in May 2020, which is 19.7 percent more than at the beginning of the year, Trend reports with reference to the data of Kazakhstan’s National Bank.

Value of Kazakhstan’s monetary base has also decreased by 0.4 percent compared to Apr. 2020.

“The narrow reserve money equaled 5.2 trillion tenge ($12.9 billion), which is 4.1 percent less than in beginning of the year. The narrow reserve money has increased by 0.3 percent compared to Apr. 2020,” the report said.

“In turn, the value of currency in circulation stood at 2.7 trillion tenge ($6.8 billion), which is 20.3 percent more than at the beginning of the year, but is 7.5 percent more than in Apr. 2020,” the statement said.

M1 money aggregate increased by 8.2 percent since the beginning of the year and amounted to 6.4 trillion tenge ($15.9 billion), whereas M2 money aggregate increased by 4.6 percent and equaled 16.7 trillion tenge ($41.8 billion).

“The broad money value amounted to 22.4 trillion tenge ($55.8 billion), which is 5.2 percent more than in the beginning of the year. Broad money value has also increased by 1 percent compared to Apr. 2020,” the report said.
