Fruit, vegetable processing plant commissioned in Iran's Ardabil industrial park

Licenses were issued for operation of 1,050 enterprises in Iran during first three months of current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2020), Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Saeed Zarandi said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

He made the remark during the opening ceremony of Sabalan Haft-Aseman Company and the company's fruits and vegetables processing plant of Sabalan Haft-Aseman Company in Ardabil industrial park of Ardabil Province (northeastern Iran).

According to Zarandi, more than 400 billion rials (about $9.52 million) have been invested in 196 enterprises which are expected to employ 18,500 people.

The deputy minister said that despite US sanctions and coronavirus pandemic, Iran continues to develop.

“The production increased in Iran; the production of 16 out of 44 essential items has considerably grown,” he said.

About $5 million and 90 billion rials (about $2.14 million) in loans were received to establish the Sabalan Haft-Aseman company and construct the plant. The company employs 150 people and its products will be exported.

The US imposed new sanctions on Iran in November 2018. Over the past period, the sanctions affected Iranian oil exports, more than 700 banks, companies and individuals.

Iran continues to monitor the coronavirus situation in the country. According to recent reports from the Iranian officials, over 215,000 people have been infected, and 10,130 people have already died. Meanwhile, over 175,100 have reportedly recovered from the disease.
