Volume of foreign investment in Iran's Zanjan Province announced

The volume of foreign investment in the Zanjan Province (western Iran) amounted to 18 percent of foreign investment in Iran in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019 - March 20, 2020), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Zanjan Province Nasser Faghfouri, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

The chairman stressed that more than $154 million worth of foreign investment was invested in Zanjan Province in the last Iranian year.

He added that however, worth of $856 million foreign investment was invested in Iran in the last Iranian year.

"Foreign investment is being made to the plan on development of GTI company in Zanjan Province. More than 8 trillion rials (about $190 million) has been invested to the plan, so far and the plan will be implemented until the beginning of 11th month of current Iranian year (January 20, 2021)," he said.

The chairman noted that with the implementation of this plan, the company's cigarette production will increase from 30 billion units to 41 billion units per year.

"Pak Hayat Company was established by Turkish investors in Zanjan Province, and manufacturing enterprises by Chinese and German investors," he said.

According to Faghfouri, in 2013 (when the current Iranian government came to power), a total of 25 trillion rials (about $595 million) foreign investment was invested in Zanjan Province.
