Total assets of Azerbaijani banks made up 31.6 billion manat ($18.6 billion) as of September 1, 2020, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to CBA, as of January 1, 2020, the assets of Azerbaijani banks amounted to 32.7 billion manat ($19.2 billion). Thus, from January through August 2020, the banks' assets decreased by 5.1 percent. However, in August, the assets increased by 562.4 million manat ($331 million) or 1.8 percent.
The loan portfolio of banks made up 14.3 billion manat ($8.4 billion) as of August 31 this year, showing decline of four percent compared to the end of 2019.
Meanwhile, the total capitalization of banks in Azerbaijan reached 4.7 billion manat or $2.7 billion (growth by 2.9 percent).
