Azerbaijan has announced the amount of funds that will be allocated for defense and national security from the state budget for 2021, Trend reports on Dec.21 referring to the Ministry of Finance.
According to the ministry, it’s planned to allocate over 4.5 billion manat ($2.6 billion) from the state budget for the above purposes.
Of these funds, 1.9 billion manat ($1.12 billion) will be allocated for the defense forces, 260.6 million manat ($153.3 million) - for the national security, 281.6 million manat ($165.6 million) - for the border service, 3.9 million manat ($2.3 million) - for research in the field of defense and national security, and 2.1 billion manat ($1.2 billion) - for other activities related to defense and national security.
The total forecasted expenses of the consolidated budget will amount to over 31.1 billion manat ($18.3 billion), which is 855 million manat ($502.9 million), or 2.8 percent more than in 2020.
