Azerbaijan is forecasted to allocate 11.1 billion manat ($6.5 billion) for socially oriented expenses from the state budget next year, which is 563.8 million manat ($331.6 million) or 5.3 percent more than in 2020, Trend reports on Dec.21 referring to the Ministry of Finance.
According to the ministry, 6.6 billion manat ($3.9 billion) or 23.1 percent of the above expenses is planned to be allocated for the salary fund, over 3.7 billion manat ($2.2 billion) or 13.1 percent - for scholarships and social benefits, 477 million manat ($280.6 million) or 1.7 percent - for buying food, and 290.4 million manat ($170.8 million) or 1 percent - for buying medicines and dressing materials.
The share of socially oriented expenses in the structure of state budget expenditures will be 38.9 percent, which is 0.6 percentage points more than this year.
In general, during the past five years, the share of such expenses (together with the forecasted ones in 2021), including the number of expenses for wages, pensions, and benefits in accordance with the economic classification of budget expenditures, the purchase of medicines, dressing materials, and food, in the structure state budget expenditures grew by 3.8 percent, and in real terms - by over 4.8 billion manat ($2.8 billion) or 78.2 percent.
The total forecasted expenses of the consolidated budget will amount to over 31.1 billion manat ($18.3 billion), which is 855 million manat ($502.9 million), or 2.8 percent more than in 2020.
