Volume of loans issued to public organizations in Azerbaijan doubles

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 14

The volume of loans issued to public organizations amounted to 24.5 million manat ($14.4 million) from January through November 2020, which more than doubled compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the statistical report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, in terms of money, the growth in this segment amounted to 13.1 million manat ($7.7 million).

However, in comparison with the beginning of 2020, this figure decreased by 36.7 percent or 14.2 million manat ($8.35 million).

As reported, the share of lending to this sector in lending to the real sector reached 0.2 percent, having increased by 0.1 percentage points over the year.

In general, the volume of lending to the real sector amounted to 14.6 billion manat ($8.58 billion) by December 1, 2020, which indicates a decline in annual terms of 435.1 million manat ($255.9 million), or 2.9 percent.
