The Georgian Stock Exchange ended 2020 with a capitalization of 2365512201.97, Trend reports via Georgian media.
During the year the shares were traded at $115 and $ 8.66 million on 8,148 securities.
The main activity on the exchange was the so-called "Fixing". Only 48 transactions were concluded during the trading sessions of the exchange during the year, the total trading volume for 91,086 securities amounted to 46.13 million lari ($14.06 million).
Some 24 deals were concluded on securities issued by "Fixing".
The deal for 4.13 million lari ($1.25 million) was concluded with 5.02 million in securities. In total, within the framework of fixing and trading sessions, deals were concluded for 52.56 million lari/$16.01 million (at the official exchange rate as of December 31).
2020 is considered a historic year for the Georgian Stock Exchange. For the first time since 2008, in 2020, an initial public offering (IPO) of shares was held on the Georgian Stock Exchange.
Last year, 10 companies left the exchange.
