Azerbaijan's CBA signs contract for purchase of banknote-calculating machines

The Central Bank of Azerbaijani (CBA) signed a contract worth over 11,000 manat ($6,470), Trend reports with reference to the ‘Electronic Procurement’ portal.

The winner of the tender announced by the CBA for the purchase of machines for counting banknotes to ensure the operation of the bank's treasury infrastructure has been determined.

"Altair Technologies LLC was named as the winner of the tender upon the decision of the tender commission," the portal said. "A contract worth 11,030 manat ($6,490) was signed with the company."

The main goal of the СBA's activities within the powers defined by the Law of Azerbaijan ‘On the Central Bank’ is to ensure price stability in the country. Another goal is also to organize and ensure the operation of interbank centralized and other payment systems that don’t require licensing, as well as to promote the stability of the banking system.
