Lending in Georgia increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 22

Lending in Georgia increased by 6 billion lari ($1.8 billion) from 31.9 billion lari ($9.6 billion) to 38.2 billion lari ($11.5 billion) compared with the same period of 2019 as of 4Q2020, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

In the reporting period TBC Bank was the leader with a loan portfolio of 14.9 billion lari ($4.5 billion) against 12.6 billion lari ($3.8 billion) in 2019.

The loans in the foreign currency accounted for 59.4 percent of the total loans.

"Bank of Georgia" is the second with the loan portfolio of 13.3 billion lari ($4.03 billion), against 11.1 billion lari ($3.3 billion) in 2019. Foreign currency loans accounted for 56.6 percent of the total loans.

On the bottom of the top three is Liberty Bank with the loan portfolio of 1.6 billion lari ($485.3 million) against 1.2 billion lari ($363.9 million) in 2019. Foreign currency loans accounts for 23.23 percent of the total loans.
