Iran issues data on necessary commodities released from its customs

Iran's Customs Administration has released 21.4 million tons of necessary commodities valued $10.8 billion from start of current Iranian year (started March 20,2020) up to February 18, said spokesman of Iran Customs Administration Rohullah Latifi, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Total of 30.8 million tons of imported commodities have been released," said Latifi.

"Imported necessary commodities shared 69 percent of country's imported weight and 31 percent of imported value," he said.

"Iran has imported 9.1 million tons of corn valued $2.2 billion that is 42 percent of country's imported necessary commodities in weight," he added.

"In addition to corn, the country has imported 13,560 tons of medicines, equipment and essential medical supplies valued $1.4 billion, 2.4 million tons of vegetable oil seed valued $1.7 million, 1.3 million tons of vegetable oils valued $895 million, 1.7 million tons of barley valued $442 million," he said.

"Other imported necessary commodities included 2.9 million tons of wheat valued $813 million, 849,000 tons of rice valued $776 million, 1.1 million tons of sugar valued $370 million, 57,000 tons of dried tea valued $286 million, 44,400 tons of various machinery valued $255 million," he said.

Iran's trade during 11 months of current Iranian year was 134 million tons of commodities, valued $65 billion.
