Azerbaijani investors withdrew investments from Georgia for $30.8 million in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Service of Georgia (Geostat).
Most of the investments withdrawn last year - 13.9 million - fell in the first quarter.
In 2018, Azerbaijan invested $246.4 million in the Georgian economy, and in 2019 foreign direct investment from the neighboring country amounted to $ 35.8 million.
Meanwhile, last year Georgia received $20.1 million of direct foreign investments from the CIS countries. Most of them were carried out from Russia ($25.5 million), Ukraine ($11.8 million).
Last year, foreign direct investment from the CIS countries to Georgia decreased only from Azerbaijan.
