The total assets of the state-owned Iranian Bank Melli's branch in Azerbaijan (in Baku) increased by 3.7 percent in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the bank's balance sheet.
According to the report, the bank's total assets increased by 3.63 million manat ($2.13 million) - up to 101.1 million manat ($59.4 million).
In the structure of assets, a significant part (61.8 percent) accounted for cash and correspondent accounts in other banks, the total volume of which amounted to 62.5 million manat ($36.7 million).
“The bank's investments in securities amounted to 23.2 million manat ($13.6 million), remaining unchanged from the first quarter of 2020. The loan portfolio increased by almost 32.1 percent, reaching 6.1 million manat ($3.58 million),” said the report.
In the structure of long-term assets of Bank Melli Iran, 3.31 million manat ($1.94 million) fell on unused real estate, and this figure decreased by 2.1 percent over the year. Its intangible assets, after deducting depreciation, almost doubled, reaching 153,600 manat ($90,353). Other assets amounted to 4.9 million manat ($2.88 million).
