BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Tenders worth 160 million lari ($46.4 million) have been announced within the framework of the state program "Renewed Regions" in Georgia.

As reported, the program was announced by Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili.

The tenders announced by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia cover all thirty-four municipalities of Western Georgia.

Meanwhile, the "Renewed Regions" state program includes 63 municipalities of the country and will finance such projects as: rehabilitation of cultural or historical heritage sites; Rehabilitation of administrative centers of municipalities; Arrangement of recreational spaces and development of relevant tourist infrastructure in recreational parks; Construction of public facilities important for the municipality; Development of urban renewal design documents for cities, resorts and settlements.

This year, 130 million lari ($37.7 million) is earmarked for the financing of this program, which will be covered directly by the Municipal Development Fund from its 2021 budget, and an additional 90 million lari ($26.1 million), which will be transferred to the Municipal Development Fund by the Ministry of Finance from the budget balance.

The projects envisaged by the announced tenders must be completed within 2 years.

Receipt of bids in public procurement starts on May 7 and ends on May 10, therefore construction companies have quite a bit of time to prepare their own projects and pricing offers.
