The total assets of Georgian commercial banks (in current prices) increased by 513.28 million lari, ($157 million) in April 2021, compared to the previous month, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia.
As reported, this indicator constituted 58.67 billion lari ($17.9 billion), exchange rate effect excluded above-mentioned indicator increased by 0.08 percent).
The banking sector’s equity capital equals 6.4 billion lari ($1.9 billion), which makes up 10.92 percent of the commercial banks total assets.
The total volume of non-bank deposits in the Georgian banking sector decreased by 1.58 percent or by 570.47 million lari ($172.7 million) in March 2021, compared to April 1, 2021, and constituted 35.62 billion lari ($10.7 billion) by May 1, 2021.
In April, the volume of term deposits increased by 212.22 million lari ($64.2 million).
Demand deposits decreased by 782.68 million lari ($236.9 million).
As of May 1, 2021, the banking sector in Georgia is represented by 15 commercial banks, including 14 - foreign-controlled banks.
