The Azerbaijani population's total bank deposits made up 8.4 billion manat ($4.9 billion) as of early July 2021, Trend reports referring to the statistics report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, this is by 9.5 percent or 729.04 million manat ($428.8 million) more compared to early July 2020.
Over 11 percent of all bank deposits in the country accounted for the Azerbaijani districts, the CBA report said.
Some 54.3 percent or 4.6 billion manat ($2.7 billion) of the population’s bank deposits accounted for the national currency, the report reads.
The total volume of deposits reached 7.5 billion manat ($4.4 billion) in Baku, of which 3.8 billion ($2.2 billion) - in national currency (50.3 percent).
At the same time, the average annual deposit rate throughout the country as of early July 2021 amounted to 3.33 percent, and in Baku – 3.21 percent.
