A total of 4.7 million transfers worth 68.2 trillion tenge ($131.2 billion) were made via services of Kazakhstan National Bank's payment systems in June 2021, Trend reports with reference to the data of the bank.
This is 4.6 percent more in volume and 0.4 percent more in value compared to May 2021. On average, 214,200 transactions worth 3.8 trillion tenge ($8.9 billion) were carried out daily.
The volume of plastic cards issued in Kazakhstan amounted to 54 million cards as of July 1, 2021, and 48.2 percent of them were used in May 2021.
The volume of transactions via plastic cards of Kazakh issuers amounted to 533.3 million transactions worth 8.4 trillion tenge ($19.8 billion) in June 2021, which means an increase of 0.2 percent in volume and by 13.2 percent in value compared to May 2021.
Furthermore, the total volume of funds sent via international systems of money transfers amounted to 0.3 million transfers worth 109 billion ($257.6 million) in June 2021, which is 39.6 percent more in value compared to May 2021.
Out of the total volume of transfers, 81.3 percent of total volume or 94.4 percent of total value (102.9 billion tenge or $243.2 million) accounted for transfers from Kazakhstan to other countries.
Some 18.7 percent of total volume (0.1 million) and 5.6 percent of total value (6ю1 billion tenge or $14.4 million) accounted for transfers in Kazakhstan.
The remaining 0.1 million transfers worth 24.9 billion tenge ($58.04 million) accounted for transfers from other countries to Kazakhstan.
