A total of 4.72 million tons of goods worth 356 trillion rials (about $8.46 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) during the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2021), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.
This is an increase of 17 percent in terms of volume, while a decrease of 0.5 percent in terms of value compared to the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2021).
So, 4.02 million tons of goods worth 375 trillion rials (about $8.93 billion) were sold at Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the 4th month.
According to the statistics, 1.22 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 151 trillion rials (about $3.6 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of the IME in the 5th month.
"About 250,000 tons of bitumen, 243,000 tons of various polymeric substances, 145,000 tons of chemicals, 12,800 tons of base oil, 2,000 tons of slaps wax, 332,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 38,900 tons of sulfur, 220 tons of argon, 1,170 tons of anti-moisture coatings (facades) and 189,000 tons lube cut products were sold in this section," the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 3.46 million tons of products worth 199 trillion rials (about $4.73 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of the IME over the reporting month.
"So, 638,000 tons of various steel products, 2.43 million tons of cement, 230,000 tons of iron ore, 20,600 tons of copper products, 90 tons of precious metal concentrate, 480 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 51,900 tons of aluminum, 400 tons of coke, 86,300 tons of zinc ingots, 34,500 tons of sponge iron, and 35 kg gold bars were sold in this section within 5th month," the statistics said.
At the same time, 43,200 tons of various products worth 5.51 trillion rials (about $131 million) were sold in the sub-market section of the exchange in the fifth month, the statistics said.
