Uzbekistan reduces income tax rate for cement producers

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 31

By Fakhri Vakilov – Trend:

According to Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's Decree "On measures to support the construction materials industry”, from October 1, 2021, the income tax rate for cement (clinker) producers will be reduced from 20 percent to 15 percent, Trend reports with reference to the decree.

Moreover, from January 1, 2022, the tax rate for the use of subsoil for 1 ton of limestone for the production of cement will be reduced by half and set at $2.11.

In March 2021, construction companies were buying imported cement while the incentive is still in effect. Then the authorities canceled the customs duty on cement imports, which is 30 percent. The discount is valid until October 1.

It is expected that this will prevent the rise in prices for building materials, which, as a rule, leads to higher prices for other goods. Significant growth in construction is expected in the coming months compared to last year.
