Azerbaijan records decrease in lending to public organizations

The loans issued to the public organizations in Azerbaijan amounted to 19.5 million manat ($11.5 million) as of early August 2021, which is by 16.3 percent (3.8 million manat $2.2 million) less compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports on Sept. 3 with reference to the statistics data of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, the share of public organizations in lending to the real sector during the reporting period amounted to 0.1 percent, having decreased by 0.1 percentage points compared to early August 2020.

In general, lending to the real sector of the Azerbaijani economy from January through July 2021 amounted to 15.4 billion manat ($9.05 billion), which is 782.4 million manat ($460.2 million) or 5.4 percent more than in the same period of last year.

The biggest share of loans in Azerbaijan accounted for households in the reporting period, amounting to 7.5 billion manat ($4.4 billion) or 48.6 percent of the total volume of lending to the real sector.
