Azerbaijan's state budget records surplus

A surplus was recorded in the state budget of Azerbaijan from January through August 2021, Trend reports via the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.

The state budget revenues for eight months decreased in annual terms by 17.2 million manat ($10.1 million) to 15.9 billion manat ($9.3 billion), or 0.1 percent.

Budget expenditures approached the amount of 15.6 billion manat ($9.1 billion) against 16.3 billion manat ($9.5 billion) over the same period last year (a decline of 4.5 percent over the year).

As a result, the state budget surplus amounted to 310.7 million manat ($182.7 million) from January through August 2020 – a deficit of 401.5 million manat ($236.1 million).

Azerbaijan's GDP from January through August 2021 increased by 3.6 percent compared to the same period last year – from 46 billion ($27 billion) to 54.7 billion manat ($32.1 billion). Thus, the state budget surplus amounted to 0.6 percent of GDP.
