Amount of loans issued by Iranian banks increase

The Iranian banks issued loans worth about 14.8 quadrillion rials (about $353 billion) in various economic sectors in the country during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through October 22, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

Meanwhile, in the same period of the Iranian year, the figure stood at 5.47 quadrillion rials (about $130 billion).

"So, the banks issued 1.03 quadrillion rials (about $24.5 billion) worth of loans in the agricultural sector in the mentioned period," the statistics said.

Moreover, the banks issued loans worth 4.39 quadrillion rials (about $105 billion) in Iran's industrial and mining sectors over seven months.

According to the statistics, the banks also issued loans worth 754 trillion rials (about $17.9 billion) in Iran's housing and construction sector during the reporting period.

Furthermore, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 2.23 quadrillion rials (about $53.1 billion) in the trade sector in 7 months.

At the same time, 6.41 quadrillion rials (about $152 billion) worth of loans were issued in the services sector and 2.74 trillion rials (about $65.3 million) in other unmentioned areas over the first 7 months of the current Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, the loans are provided for the establishment of enterprises and facilities, as working capital, repair work, development, purchase of personal assets, purchase of apartments, and so on.
