Iran’s CBI discloses amount of loans issued in agricultural sector

Iranian banks issued loans worth 1.03 quadrillion rials (about $24.5 billion) in the agricultural sector of the country, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through October 22, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, about 210 trillion rials (about $5 billion) worth of loans was issued for the establishment of enterprises and the planting of gardens, and arable lands in the agricultural sector.

In addition, 704 trillion rials (about $16.7 billion) worth of loans was issued as working capital in the agricultural sector.

"The loans worth 4.54 trillion rials (about $108 million) were issued for repair work in the agricultural sector of Iran within 7 months," the statistics said.

According to the statistics, at the same time, 64.7 trillion rials (about $1.54 billion) worth of loans was issued for the development of Iran's agricultural sector.

Moreover, 14.7 trillion rials (about $351 million) worth of loans was issued for the purchase of personal assets in the agricultural sector, 1.03 trillion rials (about 24.6 million) for the purchase of housing, and 31.2 trillion rials (about $744 million) for other purposes.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 14.8 quadrillion rials (about $353 billion) in various economic sectors in the first seven months of the current Iranian year. The figure stood at 5.47 quadrillion rials (about $130 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.
