The volume of loans issued by Turkmen banks to the private sector of Turkmenistan increased by 32.1 percent as of January 2022, said Gadyrgeldy Mushshikov, Chairman of the Central Bank, Trend reports citing Orient News.
He during the reporting period, the volume of issued soft loans by banks increased by 4.6 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
At the same time, the volume of balances on loans grew by 7.3 percent in the first month of 2022 compared to the same period of 2021.
During the reporting period, the volume of mortgage loans increased by 8.2 percent.
Mushshikov said that in the first month of 2022, 1,874 small and medium-sized business projects were financed by Turkmen banks. Credit funds resulted in the creation of 16,610 jobs.
Last year, Turkmenistan's economy attracted $300 million in foreign investment for the development of private and public sectors.
The income of the country's credit institutions increased by 8.4 percent in 2021, while the volume of non-cash payments within the country increased by 31 percent.
