BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 14. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 11.6 percent, in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, more than 15,800 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 3rd month. Of this, 9,900 tons were loaded and 5,900 tons were unloaded.
About 8,280 tons of cargo were exported and 5,860 tons were imported through the Astara port over the reporting month.
Also, 1,610 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit during the 3rd month.
According to the statistics, 1,480 tons of metal products, and 6,390 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 119 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 1,590 tons of chemicals, 5,770 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, and so on, 258 tons of small and assorted goods, 128 tons of container products and 10 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In general, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.8 million tons were loaded and 6.8 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6.4 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
