BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. A total of 32.912 million transactions worth 2.3 billion manat ($1.3 billion) were made in Azerbaijan through the Government Payment Portal in the first half of 2022, Trend reports referring to the "Payment system review" of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Out of the total number of transactions, 64 percent fell on non-cash payments.
The overall number of transactions reached 17.13 million, increasing by 18 percent compared to the first half of 2021. Out of the total operations, non-cash transactions made up 15.782 million, up by 36 percent year-on-year.
In the first half of 2022, 38.8 million transactions totaling 128.2 billion manat ($75.49 billion) were carried out in Azerbaijan through the AZIPS' (Interbank Settlement System on Large and Urgent payments) and 'XOHKS' (Calculation Clearing System on Small Payments) National Payment System.
