BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. The total deposits of the Azerbaijani population increased by 2.21 billion manat ($1.3 billion), or 25.69 percent as of June 31, 2022, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, a total of 9.6 billion manat ($5.6 billion), or 89.1 percent of all bank deposits fell on Baku, while 1.17 billion manat ($688.2 million), or about 10.9 percent – on the districts.

Meanwhile, 60.11 percent (6.5 billion manat, or $3.8 billion) of bank deposits were in national currency, whereas 39.88 percent (4.3 billion manat, or $2.5 billion) – were in foreign currency.

The average annual deposit rate as of June 31, 2022 was 3.29 percent, while in Baku – 3.14 percent.
