BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. The volume of deposits in Kazakhstan’s deposit organizations amounted to 28.05 trillion tenge ($58.6 billion) in July 2022, which is 3.3 percent more compared to June 2022 and 11.3 percent more than during the same month last year, Trend reports with reference to the data of Kazakhstan’s National Bank.
Deposits of legal persons decreased in value by 4.8 percent to 14.4 trillion tenge ($30.3 billion), whereas deposits of physical persons increased by 1.7 percent to 13.5 trillion tenge ($28.5 billion).
In turn, the value of deposits denominated in the national currency (tenge) increased by 3.1 percent in a month to 18.1 trillion tenge ($38.09 billion), whereas the value of deposits denominated in foreign currency increased by 3.5 percent to 9.9 trillion tenge ($20.8 billion).
The deposits dollarization level stood at 35.4 percent in July 2022 compared to 36 in Dec. 2021.
Tenge denominated deposits of legal entities increased by 3.9 percent in July 2022 and have amounted to 9.05 trillion tenge ($19.01 billion), whereas foreign currency denominated deposits of legal entities increased by 6.4 percent to 5.4 trillion tenge ($11.3 billion).
Tenge denominated deposits of physical persons increased by 2.4 percent in July 2022 and have amounted to 9.08 trillion tenge ($19.07 billion), whereas foreign currency denominated deposits of physical persons increased by 0.3 percent to 4.5 trillion tenge ($9.4 billion).
The value of time deposits amounted to 18.9 trillion tenge ($39.8 billion), having increased by 4 percent in July 2022 compared to June 2022.
The weighted average remuneration rate on time deposits of non-bank legal entities in tenge amounted to 12.3 percent in July 2022 compared to 7.3 percent in July 2021, whereas the weighted average remuneration rate on deposits of physical entities was 11.8 percent compared to 8.5 percent in July 2021.
