BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 5. The ratio of Azerbaijan's current account surplus to GDP is expected to increase by 24.5 percent in 2022 and 16.7 percent in 2023, Trend reports citing the World Bank's October report.
This indicator is 1.8 and 0.2 percent more than in World Bank's April forecasts, respectively.
The World Bank (WB) forecasts the ration of current account surplus to GDP in Azerbaijan at the level of 13.4 percent, which is 1.1 percent more than in the previous forecast.
In addition, Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) forecasted surplus in current account in 2023.
The current account surplus in the first half of the year increased compared from January through June last year by $8.4 billion, or 5.5 times - from $1.8 billion to $10.3 billion.
