BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. International Bank of Azerbaijan ranked first among local banks in terms of volume of total assets in the fourth quarter of 2022, Trend reports.
According to the bank's financial report, the total assets of the bank for the reporting period amounted to 14.03 billion manat ($8.25 billion).
PASHA Bank took second place with a volume of total assets worth 8.5 billion manat ($5 billion).
Kapital Bank ranked third with a volume of total assets of 7.8 billion manat ($4.5 billion).
The total assets of the first three banks amounted to 30.38 billion manat ($17.8 billion), or 75.95 percent of the overall total assets of 10 banks of Azerbaijan (40.001 billion manat or $23.5 billion), or 64.56 percent of the overall total assets of all banks of Azerbaijan (47.054 billion manat or $27.6 billion).

According to the CBA, the net profit of the banking sector increased by 305.5 million manat ($179.7 million), or 50.16 percent from January through December 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 - from 609 million manat ($358.2 million) to 914.5 million manat ($537.9 million).
The total assets of banks exceeded 47.05 billion manat ($27.6 billion) in Azerbaijan as of January 1, 2023, total liabilities - 41.4 billion manat ($24.3 billion), and total capital - 5.6 billion manat ($3.2 billion). Assets, liabilities, and capital of the banking sector increased by 22.34, 23.71, and 13.14 percent, respectively, compared to the same period in 2021.
