BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 14. The total value of transactions via internet banking in Azerbaijan grew in 2022, Trend reports via the "Payment system review" of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the review, this figure amounted to 211.97 billion manat ($124.69 billion manat), up by 49.9 percent compared to 2021.
Last year, 187.4 million transactions worth 318.1 billion manat ($187.1 billion) from current bank accounts of customers were implemented, the review said.
Meanwhile, 73 percent of all transactions (137.4 million) amounting to 244 billion manat or $143.5 billion (77 percent of the total amount) were carried out via digital banking.
The amount of transactions through mobile banking grew by 2.9 times compared to 2021, reaching 12.1 billion manat ($7.1 billion).
As of January 1, 2023, out of 25 Azerbaijani banks, 25 banks provided internet banking services, while 21 – mobile banking services.
