BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 29. The volume of card transactions by foreign citizens in Azerbaijan decreased by 6.67 percent, or 10 million manat ($5.9 million) to 1.4 billion manat ($823.5 million) from January through August 2023, Trend reports.
The volume of card transactions by foreign citizens in the same period last year amounted to 1.3 billion manat ($764.7 million).
According to the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan, foreign citizens in Azerbaijan made transactions in the amount of 200.9 million manat ($118.2 million) via bank cards in August 2023, in January 171.5 million manat ($100.9 million), in February 162.3 million manat ($95.5 million), in March 218.1 million manat ($128.3 million), in April 126 million manat ($74.1 million), in May 173.4 million manat ($102 million), in June 148.6 million manat ($87.4 million), and in July 218.8 million manat ($128.7 million).
Foreign citizens in Azerbaijan will have made transactions in the amount of 2.2 billion manat ($1.3 billion) through bank cards by the end of 2022.
