ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 15. As of early December 2023, the count of individuals enrolled in mobile banking services in Turkmenistan reached a total of 68,643 users, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, the number of users of services on time is 15.5 percent higher than in the same month last year (59,421 users).
The largest number of registered users of this service live in the Mary (17,808 users) and Lebap (17,739 users) regions, as well as in the city of Ashgabat (14,131 users).
During the reporting period, Halkbank Joint-Stock Commercial Bank emerged with the highest user count, boasting 16,554 registered users.
Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank closely followed with 16,475 users, and Dayhanbank State Commercial Bank secured the third position with 14,109 users.
The financial sector in Turkmenistan is undergoing sustained expansion, with a significant emphasis on incorporating mobile applications for a wide range of service and product payments. Transaction volumes are increasing, and there is a notable diversification of payment options facilitated through bank payment terminals.
