Iran records nine-monthly huge lending figures in key realms

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 12. Iranian banks granted loans worth approximately 31.7 quadrillion rials (about $754 billion) in various economic sectors in the country in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), Trend reports.

Data from Iran's central bank shows the distribution of loans for various sectors of Iran's economy:

- Services sector: 13 quadrillion rials (about $310 billion);

- Industrial and mining sectors: 11.4 quadrillion rials (about $273 billion);

- Trade sector: about 3.15 quadrillion rials (about $75 billion);

- Agriculture sector: around 2.24 quadrillion rials (about $53.2 billion);

- Housing and construction sectors: about 1.78 quadrillion rials (about $42.3 billion);

- Other areas: 7.24 trillion rials (about $172 million).

The loans are provided for the establishment of enterprises and facilities, such as working capital, repair work, development, the purchase of personal assets, the purchase of apartments, etc.
