ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, January 27. The Central Bank of Turkmenistan has approved a new procedure for compliance with cyber protection and information security requirements in the country's banking system, Trend reports.
According to the procedure, the requirements for the organization of a cyber defense system in banks and protection measures against unauthorized access and malicious software have been adopted.
Furthermore, network security requirements have been established to ensure confidentiality and data integrity.
At the same time, requirements for a multifunctional 'One Window' system, e-commerce, log analysis, and business continuity were introduced in the banking sector of Turkmenistan.
Banks are required to identify a list of critical information infrastructure facilities, ensure their protection, and assess cybersecurity risks.
The document applies to all banks and money-transfer organizations in Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile, in recent years, banks in Turkmenistan have been actively developing the field of cybersecurity, paying special attention to the protection of financial data and ensuring the security of online transactions.
They implement modern technologies and innovations such as multi-factor authentication, monitoring systems with artificial intelligence support, and regularly update software to minimize vulnerabilities.
