ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 14. Turkmenistan boasted 40,348 POS terminals at the commencement of March 2024, Trend reports.
According to data from the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat has the most POS terminals (13,101), followed by Lebap (6,862) and Mary (6,684).
Dayhanbank State Commercial Bank has the most POS terminals (8,415) over the reporting period.
Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank finished second with 7,608 POS terminals, while Halkbank Joint-Stock Commercial Bank came in third with 6,933 POS terminals.
Turkmenistan's POS terminal count has increased by more than eightfold in the last eight years. Thus, on January 1, 2016, Turkmenistan had 5,223 POS terminals; by January 1, 2024, the total had risen to 42,131.
