BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. The Central Asian and Azerbaijan region is a center of development and innovation, not just a geographical location, Senior Director and Head of Visa Direct in Ukraine, Georgia, CIS countries, and South-Eastern Europe, Sanjar Suleymanov told Trend in an exclusive interview.
"Year after year, we see an active increase in non-cash payments in this region, indicating that the populace is still interested in financial services, despite current constraints. Central Asia and Azerbaijan are ideal grounds for the birth of new services and products, as there is a strong interest in innovation. The financial services market is one of the most competitive in our country; every business competes for clients, which drives industry growth.
We are constantly in a state of frenzy and have to invest additional resources to meet the growing demand. It is not uncommon for new service launches to start in our region and then spread globally. This confirms that innovation does not always originate in developed countries but can emerge and develop in regions where new approaches to financial services are introduced," he said.
According to Sanjar Suleymanov, this tendency will continue; therefore, Visa is actively investing in partners, markets, and innovations.
"Our company is focused on various areas, including support for young talents and athletes, to create a comprehensive ecosystem that will penetrate not only the segments traditionally associated with Visa but will connect all spheres of life with the company," he added.
