BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 3. The Global Climate Baku Transparency Platform (BTP) initiative, proposed by Azerbaijan as the presiding country of COP29, addresses the needs of developing countries and aims to establish strong transparency systems at the national level, Brazil's Deputy Minister of Environment and Climate Change Andre Correa said, Trend reports.

He made the remark in an online address to participants of the High-Level Dialogue on Climate Issues in Baku.

"Let's take this opportunity to identify and address gaps in capacity and technical needs while strengthening mutual trust and cooperation," he noted.

According to him, the adoption of a global emissions transparency system sets the stage for a fresh chapter in climate action.

"This shift is transformative and prioritizes cooperation over competition among countries," Correa added.

As the host of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), Azerbaijan presented the Baku Global Climate Transparency Platform/BTP) today.
