Samsung SGH-i550 is First Symbian Smartphone with GPS

( Mobile ) - I almost find this news hard to believe, because we've already seen so many smartphones get equipped with integrated GPS. Nonetheless, the Korean electronics behemoth is saying that their Samsung SGH-i550 is the company's first Symbian-based smartphone with built-in GPS navigation.

Being shown off at the Symbian Smartphone Show in London, the Samsung SGH-i550 gets you on your way with voice activated turn-by-turn directions, making it easy for you to drive without having to glance down at the cell phone screen. Powered by Symbian OS v9.2 and S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 (what a mouthful!), the SGH-i550 is a rather unassuming candybar, but it packs plenty of wallop.

Rounding out the juicy specs are 3.6 Mbps HSDPA, 128MB RAM, 2.6-inch LCD, 3.2 megapixel camera, 150MB internal memory, and a FM radio. The Samsung SGH-i550 is scheduled to launch in Europe next month.
