First International Conference on Soft Computing Technologies in Economy Taking Place in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / Azerbaijan needs development of intellectual technologies, the principal of Baku State Economic University Shamsaddin Hajiyev said on 19 November at the opening of the first international conference Soft Computing Technologies in Economy taking place at the Economic University.

According to Hajiyev, during the last four years, Azerbaijan experienced a rapid economic rise, as GDP and the public budget increased almost eight times. The principal stressed the importance of the conference in terms of economic development in Azerbaijan through IT and training of specialists in that field. He expressed his hope that the process would continue further.

During the conference, to last from 19 to 20 November, Turkish, Azerbaijani and US scientists will hold presentations on Soft Computing technology which are based on fuzzy logic theory developed by a famous scientist of Azerbaijani origin Lutfi Zade.

Professor Zade is the director of the Soft Computing institute in the United States. His theory provided a new definition of binary set which is the core of mathematics - fuzzy set. Introduction of fuzzy dimension in science enables more adequate consideration of fuzzy processes occurring in nature and society.
