Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / Lutfi Zadeh, a famous scientist of Azerbaijnai origin, mathematician, a professor of the California University (Berkley), recommended to establish a regional scientific and technical research and development centre in Azerbaijan, when he was speaking at the 13th international exhibition of Telecommunications and IT - BakuTel 2007.
According to the scientist, the centre may include a small number of experts engaged in industrial field, scientists from different Universities and scientific research institutions based not only in Azerbaijan but also in neighboring countries, such as Turkey and Russia.
"Such a centre may play a large role not only for Azerbaijan, which possesses abundant natural resources, but for the entire region," he said.
According to the expert, it is necessary to strengthen education field in terms of IT, to organize a visit of scientists and professors from scientific research institutions and Universities to foreign countries, to deliver lectures on nano-tecnologies.
" Azerbaijan can make use of its leading position and it should do that."
