Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 March / Trend corr I. Alizade/ The Azerbaijani Parliament has developed the Bill on Internet Providers. The document was designed due to the active development of the IT field in Azerbaijan, Ziyad Samadzade, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Economic Policy, who suggested the Bill, said.
The Bill including 5 Parts reflects the activities of the organization of internet providers, the internal management of internet provider organizations and the rights of users. The Bill envisages the establishment of internet provider unions, including the Council of National Internet Providers.
The number of internet users in Azerbaijan exceeds 1mln and the number of internet providers totalled 30. For the time being, for every 100 people in Azerbaijan there are 3-4 computers provided, with 12 of every 100 being internet users.
Participating at the meeting, the representatives of the Communications and IT Ministry, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of National Security did not agree on several points in the Bill and suggestions of changes were made. The Bill was then returned to the working commission to be improved.
