Azerbaijani PC Producing Plant May Open Office in Georgia

Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 March / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The Azerbaijani computer plant KUR is planning to open its representative office in Georgia, Rizvan Osmanov, head of the plant, stated.

"We are planning to promote our production to foreign countries, particularly to our neighbors and are considering the opening of a representative office in Georgia," he said.

The company is currently locating partners in Georgia and to hold negotiations with them. The opening of the representative office may be implemented in 2008.

Furthermore, KUR is planning to expand its sale centres within Azerbaijan, particularly in the regional areas of the country. KUR is to open centres in Lankaran, Tovuz, Gabala, Geranboy, Bilasuvar and Salyan regions and to increase its sale volume.

In 2007, KUR produced 12,000 computers. In 2008, the plant is planning to produce 3,000 computers.

KUR is a joint venture. A 51% share belongs to the Communication and IT Ministry, 36% to SINAM and 13 % to the public.
