Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 April / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have chosen consulting company Axiom as a consultant to the project for construction of the Caspian section of fiber-optic cable trunk of Trans-Asia-Europe (ТАЕ), Jalil Javadov, director of the International Communications and Accounts Centre at the Communication and IT Ministry of Azerbaijan, stated.
Company renders accounts on business-plan, degree of project efficiency and conditions for construction of trunk.
The planned route TAE will pass through Siyazan ( Azerbaijan) and Aktau ( Kazakhstan) territories. The cost of construction of the cable through the depths of sea as per the estimations in 1999, comprised $10mln. Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan will pay the project on parity basis.
The route length between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan is 380km. At present, the current route is going via Turkmenistan and Iran, transverse in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani Communication Ministry believes that implementation of the project will reduce the route for almost 2,000km, which will further accelerate the information transformation.
According to the Minister the negotiations with Turkmenistan are being held, as the agreement with the country will significantly decrease the cable route connecting with Kyrgyzstan and China.
