Azerbaijan,Baku, 3 may / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / Total AZN 5.3mln communication service was rendered in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan in the first quarter 2008, 77.7% more compared to the mentioned period in 2007. NAR standing representative in Baku reported that AZN 4.1mln rendered service fell on private companies.
The Communication and IT Ministry rendered AZN 1.2mln services, 62.2% more compared to previous year.
Ministry has laid 1,102 telephone lines within three months, 43.7% more compared to the mentioned period in 2007.
The area of NAR is 5.5km sq m, which constitutes 6.4% of the Azerbaijan's territory. Nakhchivan consists of Babek, Sharur, Ordubad, Sadarak, Shahbuz, Julfa and Kangarli regions. Nakhchivan city is the capital of Nakhchivan AR with the population of 380,200 people.
