Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 November /corr. Trend S.Babayeva / "By the end of the year, the Ministry of
Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan will solve the
problem of the intrusion of Iranian channels into the ether space of the border
zones of the country," Ali Abbasov, Minister of Communications and Information
Technologies of Azerbaijan, said on 12 November.
"We have already conducted tender and ordered equipment necessary for the
installation in the border regions," said the Minister.
The Ministry of Communications of Azerbaijan has a protocol with the broadcasting company of Iran, according to which, the sides reached an agreement to create joint working group for regulating the coordination of broadcasting; prepare appropriate proposals; define the zones of coordination on broadcasting between the countries; realize exchange of technical parameters of broadcasting stations and coordinate indices with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
Work is done within the plan of measures
for the solution of the targets arising from the order by the President of
Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on expansion of telecasting in the Republic and
strengthening of information security on the ether space.
According to the July 2008 order of State Head on additional measures for
expansion of telecasting in the Republic and strengthening of information
security on the ether space, the Ministry of Communications was allocated AZN
2.5mln from Reserve Fund of the President of Azerbaijan.
