"Baktelecom" purchases new monetary telephones for Baku

PU "Baktelecom" (BTRIB) of the Azerbaijani Communication and IT Ministry has purchased 200 additional universal monetary telephones (operating both with cards and counters) which are installed in mass places, Beytulla Huseynov, head of the PU, said on Jan. 16.

"Despite that maintenance of monetary telephones is financially unprofitable but we think it is wrong to fully refuse of them. There are users of these monetary telephones," Huseynov said.

In 2008, 110 such telephones, 10 of which CDMA monetary telephones were purchased by the PU.

Besides purchased 200 telephones of China, 50 CDMA telephones have been bought which are installed in far distant regions of the country, head of Baktelecom said.

In 2009 the installation of telephones will be completed in Baku and demand for them will be covered in the capital, the PU said. Besides BTRIB, Azeurotel installs universal telephones in Baku.
